Coach Harold FairClough: Head Football Coach

Coach Fairclough is entering his 9th season at the helm of the Hornets Football program. In the 9 years that he has been at Emmaus, the Hornets have had two of the most prolific seasons in school history. He led the program to six straight district playoff appearances, two East Penn Conference championships, one East Penn Conference Lehigh Division championship in 2020 (5-1), the most wins in a single season in program history, and the program's first two District championship appearances.

In 2016, Coach Fairclough joined the Emmaus Green Hornets as the Head Coach. In his inaugural season, he led the team to a 10-2 season winning the EPC South Division title. Coach Fairclough was awarded both The Morning Call and Lehigh Valley Live Coach of the Year. His 2016 team was awarded the McFrantz Team of the Year.

In 2018, Coach Fairclough and his staff led the program to its first-ever District Championship game appearance. The

team finished 11-2. In his inaugural season, he led the team to a 10-2 season winning the EPC South Division title. Couch Fairclough was awarded both the Morning Call and Lehigh Valley Live Coach of the Year. His 2016 team was awarded the McFrantz Team of the Year.


In 2021, the Hornets returned to the District Championship game. This was the Hornets second time in four years reaching the championship round. The team finished with a 9-4 record making it the program's 3rd season with 9 or more wins in the last six years.


Coach Harold Fairclough graduated from Allentown Central Catholic, where he was an All-State Linebacker and starter on the 1993 3A State Championship Team. He went on to play Linebacker at Susquehanna University where he received All-Conference and All-American Honors.

After his playing career, he returned to the Lehigh Valley to coach at his Alma Mater. He spent 10 seasons coaching at Central Catholic. Coach Fairclough served as the Head Coach for six seasons, leading the program to three District 11 3A titles and the 2010 PIAA AAA State Championship in 2010. During the 2010 season, he led the team to a 16-0 record on their way to the program's 3rd PIAA AAA State title. He has the honor of being the only PIAA head coach to win a title as a player and as a head coach at their alma mater.

Coach Fairclough also coached at Whitehall High School from 2012-2014 where he coached the Defensive Backs and served as the Defensive Coordinator for 2 seasons. In 2015, he was an assistant coach at Moravian College and coached the Cornerbacks.


He is married to his wife Karen and has two children, Mason and Jackie. Fairclough is currently a Health/Wellness/Fitness teacher at Emmaus High School.

Coach Jake Hilderbrand: Defensive Coordinator & Inside Linebacker Coach

Coach Hildebrand is the defensive coordinator and inside linebacker coach. He has been coaching in the program since 2014. Previously, he did a one-year stint at Freedom. He is a proud 2009 Emmaus graduate. While playing for Emmaus, he was named team captain, scholar-athlete, as well as All-Conference and All-Area linebacker. After high school, he went on to major in mathematics and play linebacker at Moravian College. At Moravian, he earned All-Conference honors and served as a team captain. Coach Hildebrand is also a math teacher at Emmaus High School. He lives in the community with his wife and two kids.

Coach Eric Miller: Cornerbacks

Coach Miller graduated from William Allen High School in 2000 and Lebanon Valley College in 2004. After coaching stops at both of his alma maters and Salisbury, Palisades and Whitehall, Eric joined the Emmaus coaching staff in 2020. He has experience coaching quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends, linebackers and defensive backs. He has also served as a Freshman Head Coach, Special Teams Coordinator and Offensive Coordinator during his 17-year coaching tenure. Eric is a math teacher in the Southern Lehigh School District and he and his wife, Hillary, currently reside in Wescosville with their two children, Jax and Nia.

Coach Rich Ocelus: Wide Receivers

Coach Rich Ocelus is entering his 5th year coaching varsity football at Emmaus High School. He will be coaching the Wide Receivers this season. This will be his 18th year of Coaching Football in the Lehigh Valley. Coach Ocelus graduated from Dieruff High School in 2003 where he was a 3 sport athlete. He began his coaching career at his alma mater where he spent 11 years on staff working with quarterbacks and receivers. He also coached basketball and still coaches baseball at Dieruff High School. After coaching Dieruff football, he spent two years at Catasauqua High School working as a Quarterbacks coach before he got the job here at Emmaus. He just finished his 15th year at Dieruff High School as a Security Officer. He is very excited for his 5th season here at Emmaus and looks forward to a great season.

Coach Jon Scerbo: Full Backs/Tight Ends

Coach Scerbo joined the Emmaus coaching staff in 2019. Jon graduated from Bethlehem Catholic in 1999 where he was a two sport athlete participating in baseball and football. He went on to play fullback and punter at Muhlenberg College where he received a degree in Managerial Finance. Coach Scerbo was previously a position coach at Allentown Central Catholic for 3 years where he coached full backs, tight ends, and running backs. In addition to coaching, Coach Scerbo is the Director of Sales at Happi Foodi. He and his wife Tracie have two sons, Vincent and Giovanni.

Coach Mark Scisly: Offensive Line

Coach Scisly has been the Offensive Line Coach at Emmaus High School since the 2018 season. He spent the previous 14 years as the Head Football Coach for Boyertown, Salisbury and Northampton High Schools. In 2010, Coach Scisly led Boyertown to a 10-2 finish winning the Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship. The 10 wins that season is still a school record and Scisly was named Coach of the Year by PCTV. In 2006, Scisly's Salisbury Falcons won their only championship since 1972 by beating Pine Grove for the Eastern Conference title. Before becoming a Head Coach for HS, Scisly was the Offensive Line coach at Ursinus College. Prior to coaching, he played football for 14 years and was a three-time Associated Press All State Offensive Lineman at Southern Columbia High School. After High School, Scisly attended Ursinus College where he was a four-year starter. In 1998, he was named Co-Offensive MVP and in 1999 he participated in the Division III National Playoffs. In 2019 Scisly was inducted into the Bernie Romanoski Sr. Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. In addition to coaching, Scisly has been a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Lower Macungie Middle School since 2002. He and his wife Tanya have 3 children, Joseph, Madeline, and Alexander.

Coach Pete Verile: Defensive Line

Coach Verile played in Belvidere, NJ. He was part of the 1999 North 2 Group 1 State Championship team. Verile attended Moravian College.He coached for 3 years at Notre Dame Green Pond, 3 years at Bethlehem Catholic HS, and has coached for Emmaus since 2014. In addition to coaching, Coach Verile is also a teacher at Lower Macungie Middle School in the East Penn School District where he teaches 6th-grade reading. He and his wife Justina have 2 children Hayden and Jackson. He will be entering his 9th year coaching the Defensive Line for the Green Hornets.

COACH CHRISTAN DRAYTON III: WIDE RECEIVERS

Coach Drayton is entering his first year with the Emmaus Hornets. Coach 

Drayton is a 2018 graduate from Bethlehem Catholic High School where he 

helped to lead his team to 2 district titles and state semifinal appearances. Following his high school career Coach Drayton attended and played football at Lock Haven University for his initial two seasons, before finishing his college career at Millersville University, where he would receive his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine. Following his college graduation Coach Drayton would go on to participate in the FCS National Bowl, FBS Tropical Bowl, as well as a pro-day. Coach Drayton then went on to accept a position as a math teacher at William Allen High School while taking graduate classes at Lehigh University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education.

COACH ANDY CERCO:  OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR and QUARTERBACK

Coach Cerco is entering his first season at Emmaus and his 22nd season overall.   Most recently, Coach Cerco was the Head Football Coach at Salisbury Township High School, serving in this role since 2013.  Prior to this, Cerco served as the Defensive Coordinator at Parkland High School, along with coaching stints in various roles at Southern Lehigh, Allentown Central Catholic and Moravian College.  Coach Cerco coached in the 2023 PSFCA East / West All-Star game. Coach Cerco is a graduate of Moravian College and Abington Heights High School, where he was a member of the football teams.  Coach Cerco lives in Salisbury Township with his wife Melissa, children Gavin (Freshman at Muhlenberg) and Giana (Junior at Salisbury), along with their cat, Mrs. Clause and two dogs Parker & Lily.

Coach Geoff Laird: Assistant Defensive Backs

Coach Laird is entering his 1st season coaching at Emmaus. The 2024 season will be his 19th year coaching high school football. Geoff is a 1999 graduate of Moravian College where he earned All League honors as a defensive end. Prior to joining the Green Hornets, Geoff spent 8 seasons at Freedom where he was a defensive line coach and special teams coordinator, 6 seasons at Salisbury where he was the defensive coordinator and his latest stop was at Central Catholic where he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach from 2019 - 2022.  In addition, Coach Laird has experience coaching wide receivers, tight ends and running backs on the offensive side of the ball as well as safeties, corners and outside linebackers on defense.   Coach Laird is married to his wife Wendy and they have four children, Sean, Sofie, Teddy and Ty.

COACH RAMIE MOUSSA: SPECIAL TEAMS AND ASSISTANT OFFENSIVE LINE

Coach Moussa is entering his 13th year coaching at the Varsity level. Recently he spent the 2019-2021 seasons as the Head Coach at Palisades High School. In 2020 Palisades won the DXI AA Championship and he was 13-17 overall in 3 seasons. The previous 8 years, he spent as the Offensive Line Coach at Whitehall (winning 2 5A District Championships). He played center and defensive end, graduating from Whitehall in 2007. He’s a 2011 Penn State graduate. He’s been employed for 12 years at The Boston Beer Co. where he currently works as a Supply Chain Production Planner. He’s entering his 2nd year coaching Special Teams and Tight Ends at Emmaus. Coach recently got married to his wife, Deanna.

COACH JOHN ZIMA: SPECIALIST KICKER/PUNTER/LONG SNAPPER

Coach Zima is in his second year coaching with Emmaus where he works with the specialists - including kickers, punters, and long snappers. In 2005, he established a specialist coaching business called “Kick It”. He was a part of the Kutztown Area HS coaching staff from 2004-2007. He then moved to Fleetwood Area HS where he was the special teams coach from 2009-2011. From 2012-2015, Coach Zima worked with the Lehigh Valley SteelHawks Arena Football professional team. He’s been the specialist coach at Wyomissing Area since 2017. Coach Zima supervises the Big 33/PA East-West All-Star Game specialist selection process to provide the selection committee with candidates for consideration for selection. He resides in Kutztown and retired after a 30-year career in the corporate world and consulting.

ELIZABETH DEL RE

Originally from Delaware County, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Neumann University in 2011

with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Athletic Training, with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. Liz

was hired at Emmaus High School in July of 2012, and in May of 2019 she was nominated by our

administration and named a finalist for Sports Medicine Provider of the Year presented by St. Luke's

University Health Network. Since that time, she has volunteered her time as an athletic trainer at the

Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in June 2018, and again in January 2019 for the Dave

Schultz Memorial Tournament. In September 2018, Liz traveled to the Pan American Championships in

Mexico on behalf of USA Wrestling, then again in July of 2019 to Cadet World Championships in

Bulgaria. 

In addition to her duties as the athletic trainer, in the fall 2016 she became the advisor of the Emmaus

High School Pediatric Cancer Club. Due to her involvement with the PCC, Liz became the Volunteer Event

Organizer for the Emmaus Shave for the Brave which has donated over $350,000 to the St. Baldrick's

Foundation in support of pediatric cancer research.



ANGELA FORMAZ

Angela Formaz is originally from Wadsworth, Ohio. She attended Bowling Green State University where

she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Management with an emphasis in Athletic Training in 2003. 

Angela then attended Robert Morris University working as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, while

obtaining her Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership in 2005. After her 2 years as a Graduate

Assistant at RMU she went on to work in the Lehigh University Sports Medicine Department for the next

3 years. Angela has been with EPSD since 2008 and primarily works at LMMS but rotates in at both Eyer

and Emmaus High School as needed. 



VICTORIA RUVOLIS

Graduated from Dieruff High School in 2013 as a three sport athlete.(volleyball, basketball, and soccer)

Went to Kutztown University and played soccer for a year.

Transferred to Alvernia University to study athletic training.

Completed my senior clinical rotation at Emmaus High School during the school year of 2017-2018.

Completed my undergrad from Alvernia University in 2018.

Got hired from Lehigh Valley Health Network in October 2018 as per diem.

Worked at Northwestern Lehigh High School in the spring of 2019.

Got hired to work at Eyer Middle School/ East Penn School District in August 2019.



MARK YORTY

Graduated from Northampton High School in 2011.

He will be getting married this October to Marissa. They are building a home in Moore Township.
